This beach has two areas. The ocean side has a VERY rocky beach. I would give it 1 star. That is the section of the beach you see in the picture. I have collected rocks here to build a stone wall in my back yard! It was a very large wall. The gem of this beach is the 'back side'.... 更多
I came here based on the recommendation of some local folks we met in town and am glad we did. I'm from out of town and was concerned about needing a permit but was told to go ahead and just park without a problem(and didn't have one). We arrived early at about 10am and we're only the 5th car there;... 更多
This beach was recommended by a local (my uncle) for our kids, ages 5 and 11. And they loved it. It was uncrowded (in late June)--mostly local residents. This was a short drive from our location. parking was close to beach. We were there middle of June and parking lot was pretty empty. I'm not sure what summer parking would be like.
No Beach here at high tide. We came late April and had the place to ourselves. No facilities of any kind. Very fun afternoon. The beach is VERY rocky but there is sand beyond the water line and fun sand bars and shallows make this a great place for kids. Bring a chair. Lots of snails!
I'm a bit biased because we live within walking distance. It's a bit rocky but it's a nice beach to lay in the sand and the view across the bay is magnificent. It's a total year experience.
Woodneck beach is open to the public between September and June. Lifeguards patrol during the summer when the towns sells beach stickers for parking. It's worth the effort.
We were here to hunt for some sea glass and did find a little, but it is a very stone-laden beach. Not swimming season, had a nice walk on the beach
