Before traveling the last leg of your trip to the Cape and Islands. Be sure to stop at Battleship Cove in Fall River MA. Your kids will love the many Navy Vessels that are waiting to be explored. Not a wallet buster and lots of WWII history to hear and see. Tours available and Marine Museum within walking distance. Spend... 更多
The people working do an excellent job at maintaining such a large fleet of ships for everyone to be able to learn. Many displays and information regarding wars past and present.
My thanks to those who served our country, and especially to those who served on the USS Fall River. It was in the first and last wars of WWII and still stands today. There is a snack bar located on ship, but it is expensive. There are also bathrooms only at the main entrance, so "go" before you go.
Battleship Cove is a really nice attraction suitable for all ages. It does require climbing and paying attention to your footing. The USS Massachusetts (Big Mamie) is huge and there are so many fascinating artifacts - I would say a good amount of your time will be spent here. It's warm below deck so it's perfect even for a cold... 更多
Once again I was visiting the area for a few weeks, and it wouldn't be complete without several visits to my favorite battleship! One time, I met my cousin and his girlfriend there....it was their first time there. They were both very impressed! I also met the new curator, and she was very nice. My pet rabbit "Narvik was also... 更多
Love bringing the kids here, and when family visits, its a great day. Inexpensive and a unique interactive museum for kids. Food is limited on board, if you can't do fried food, so bring snacks. Kids loved it.
From the tour through the Submarine Lionfish, the PT's and all of the smaller displays, to the State Memorial aboard the Joseph P. Kennedy, all is spit and polish and very uplifting yet somber and respectful. Then, reserve your next three hous or so to be able to see all that is available on Big Mamie, BB59, the Battleship USS... 更多
I was pleasanylt surprised at how interesting visiting these ships were. As others have mentioned, some spots are tight spaces and require you to climb up and down steep steps. Also, when in the submarine, getting from each compartment, it was challenging to climb over the high opening. Really enjoyed the USS Kennedy and submarine. Being able to go through... 更多
I dragged my wife to this floating museum last Sunday on what was a wet windy day. On arrival you immediately see the USS Massachusetts moored up next to a submarine and two other ships. Its a great sight. The tour begins with a view of a couple if PT Boats with a audio/video description. Then you can go around... 更多
