This surprisingly interesting museum was located down the street from our B&B. The exhibits are housed on two floors plus the basement, & you can spend 1-1.5 hours there. The basement is dedicated to area shipwrecks, featuring background history & artifacts. As we were the only guests, the curator spent time showing us around & demonstrating some features of the... 更多
Really interesting exhibit on wedding dresses from the past 200 years. Included a large display of dresses from local women including 4 dresses from 4 generations from the same family. Our guide was well informed and very enthusiastic making for a very informative tour and experience. Highly recommend taking time for this small, out of the way place. Plus, lovely... 更多
This is a neat activity hidden away on Main Street Centerville,MA. Perfect for a rainy day, or a day where you would like to fit a special activity in. It has plenty of items for the past but not suited for children as they wouldn't understand the meaning and perhaps get bored. It's suited for older folk who may be... 更多
This little gem of a museum offers a look at historic Centerville's past, with rooms set up to show period furniture and decorations. The toy and game room is a lot of fun. Changing exhibits have included many local artists and always deserve a look. A very enjoyable stop on a trip to the Cape or a good place to... 更多
Seriously! A blast to the past and the life years ago. Changing displays ode to textiles and clothing. Exquisite antique furniture and a classroom set with memories and an era where my grannie on the island of PR could only imagine the cape far away. Its really a hidden gem. Randy is a great historian and host. Volunteers care for... 更多
We were intrigued by the basement exhibit of ship disaster information. It was well-organized and interesting. The first and second floor exhibit and story of former owners of the house was well worth exploring. We also enjoyed the hats and handbags of the 60"s and 70sa swell as the carved birds. For such a small museum there was a lot... 更多
First time going to this museum. What a delight! It really takes you back in time. It appears to be small, however, when you go inside it goes thru room after room of wonderful displays of the past. Makes us want to visit all the other Historical Museums , especially those on Cape Cod!
This is a small local museum with a large mind. There's a fascinating current exhibit on shipwrecks around the dangerous waters of Cape Cod, and presently there's one about the 1960s fashions, including swim suits. On permanent exhibit are quilts, whose importance as subversive messages to the fugitive slaves hiding in tunnels of Centerville homes is also fascinating.
We had heard about the Bridal Gown exhibit, so made a trip and it ended up being a fantastic experience... 更多
