The Sturgis Library is local treasure, It is located in a converted ship captain's house and is the oldest library building in America. The staff is wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable. They offer media in many forms and have an extensive genealogical reference program. I go there at least every other week.
Perfect place to do historical research and just hang out. Nice rainy day place to hang by yourself or bring the kids. My teen thought it was a cool place, that says a lot.

Totally beautiful library in a historic old building. Great programs for all ages, small gift shop section, friendly and welcoming childrens section. Gorgeous place.
