Very rural area. Views of the water were beautiful. No shopping but an area where you could ride a bike for miles and not run into another person.
I must admit that I was almost scared off by some of the negative reviews, but it really does come down to your expectations. Many people visit St Michaels, but few venture 15 miles beyond to the end of the peninsula and Tilghman Island. It's well worth a visit. It was pretty in a stark sort of way on a chilly showery April day. We saw a fox and an endangered Delmarva squirrel and had a brief walk along the shore. We weren't expecting much so were very happy with the experience.
It's all about the views of the Chesapeake, but there wasn't much to do. Pretty for a drive. We also stopped by the grocery store and bought some of the yummy cookies.
