Visited Canal Place with out-of-town friends. Walked the shops at canal place and viewed the C&O Canal Museum, also toured the Allegany County Museum near by. Very clean, informative and FREE!
Stop at the Visitor's Center and get all the information you need. Very friendly staff and the C&O Canal Museum is right there, too. Everyone at the visitor's center was knowledgeable and helpful. Lots and lots of information on shopping, dining, history, art, etc. It's a great place to start your visit. They also have a very helpful website -... 更多
No charge. Nice displays of the history of the C and O Canal. Clean bathrooms and a nice little gift shop with some great books. Worth a stop.

You'll learn about the canal, the people who plied it and their families, coal mining, the competition with railroads, the changing economy, geography, and so much more. If you're a history or architecture buff, you can't go... 更多

The exhibits were clear and valuable. The museum itself is very easily accessible from the highway and made for a great stop on a long trip. In an... 更多
