Beautiful scenery from every spot on the beach. Paid parking in lot adjacent with restrooms available. Close to a food and ice cream stand. Cute park with gazebo next to beach.
While exploring the coast of Maine, came upon this beach. Decided it would be a good place to get out of the car and stretch. Wonderful views, great area to shop & dine also. Play area for the kids to explore safely.
The beach is small but can hold quite a few people. The beach was clean and quiet. My husband and I stayed at the Union Bluff Hotel so we had easy access to the beach which was very convenient. I would recommend this beach due to its close proximity to stores and restaurants.
Short Sands Beach is a gorgeous sandy beach tucked in its own little recess right on the rocky coast of Maine! The view of the ocean is awesome (literally) and the surf is low to moderate so anyone can enjoy it, whether wading, swimming, or casual bodyboarding or surfboarding. The beach itself is a fine sand mixed with a variety... 更多
We could walk here in three minutes from our hotel, this beach is right next to the Fun-o-Rama and a few gift shops & further along the walk, a playground, basketball hoop etc. Still, soft soft sand and far out Maine tides. Not a full Zen beach expierence, but Fun. Right at the end of Main Street. This part of... 更多
I also had visited this beach. It's in more of a downtown area, where there are restaurants (some of which are open very sporadically, although I did find a breakfast place, Sandy's Purple Palace which is in a small purple building and is a popular place with the locals-it was full when I went there), and some stores, and there... 更多
Short sands beach is the cleanest, family friendly beach. It is actually combed every night! There is a small village which boasts some wonderful restaurants, shops, ice cream and the best taffy in the world---only steps away from the beach. Waves here are more gentle than Long Sands, which is a haven for surfers. September is the very best time... 更多
This beach is near a lot of stores, activities and restaurants. The beach is not a huge area but fun. The plus is metered parking right there in a lot. Parking can always be a challenge along the beach. There is a bathroom facility in the middle of the parking lot in front of the beach area.
This is a really great beach for families...there is a playground, basketball court, gazebo with concerts during the summer, lots of places to eat and to souvenir shop, a salon and spa ...a must to check out is York's famous Goldenrod since 1896, and watch salt water taffy being stretched...and Mom's be sure to get pampered at Euphoria.
