We had a fantastic guide on our visit - totally knowledgeable about the house, the family and all of the history which was fascinating The house itself is very interesting in design and how it was built. Most interesting central stairway we have ever come across. Great view of the harbor as well. The surrounding neighborhood is worth seeing as... 更多
This is my third visit with out-of-state friends and always enjoyable. This house has an interesting history and original furniture, floors, wallpaper, and outstanding stairway. Each guide has made this house come alive. If you like old homes and history this is the place to visit.
This is a large seaport house that displays the grandeur of the boom days of shipping as well as the resourcefulness of the owners when shipping was no longer lucrative. Our guide was Anne. Her love of the house and its former inhabitants became obvious immediately. She told us the stories of the families who lived there while showing us... 更多
My husband and I visited on a quiet Sunday in July and had a wonderful guide named Jane. She was well informed, enthusiastic, and great to talk with. It was just us on the tour, and when I mentioned I also work in a historic house museum, Jane really connected with us (although being a great guide, I'm sure she... 更多
Castle Tucker was situated in a quiet residential neighborhood of upscale homes near the Sheepscot River and away from the congested downtown area where parking is a challenge. There was adequate parking in the semi-circular driveway and on the street, if needed. Admission fees were: $8 - Adults $7 - Seniors $4 - Students On arrival in the office, I... 更多
Such a beautiful stop and destination that it was well worth the small admission fee. Excellent tour guides who are very well versed in the early history of the Wisc. area. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys local history or beautiful craftsmanship.
For the past 2 years my Aunt and I have been trying to visit this historic home and today when we finally got the chance and boy, it was worth the wait. As you enter the premises you are greeted by Mrs. ROXANE Althouse, a very delightful and enthusiastic historian who puts so much pride and energy into her position.... 更多
The house was made even more fascinating by an excellent interpreter. I had not realized how much wealth there was in this part of the country back in the day.
The tour guide was excellent. Rich in historically accurate information. The home is meticulously cared for. Not really a place for small children. If you are looking for a step back to life as it was yesterday you will love this place. Well worth a few hours. Don't forget to go to the nearby wharfs and get a lobster roll.... 更多
June 12, 2015 - While visiting upper New England states, we stopped at the Castle Tucker home for a tour. We arrived just after a tour had started but the ladies at the home were kind to give us a private tour that started at 2:40pm. We paid $14 for the two of us. Our tour lasted 1 1/2 hours... 更多
