Really like this beach, but it is a further walk to find an open space on a busy day. Also a longer walk back to the facilities. The price is more reasonable than at the North Beach in Ogunquit tho'.
We had a wonderful time in Wells Beach this past weekend (Aug 2016). The water was warmer than Ogunquit and York, not sure why but pleasantly surprised. There are lots of rocks and tide pools to play in for the kids, the water is clear, and there is plenty of room to spread out. Can't wait to return!
Got there by 9:30 and parked in lot for $20. It was in between low and high tide, so we had plenty of space on the beach to yhe right of the jetty. Water was cold but clean. There were waves but not too big for little kids and no undertow, plus very soft sand, so swimming was great. Left... 更多
The beach is very nice and parking is easy if you get there early. We had to, as dogs are only allowed before 8:00 am, unfortunately, or after 6:00 (I think).
Wells has beautiful beaches with hard sand and long jettys. Tidal pools create personal play areas for small children and rocks provide great climbing for older kids.
