Took the ferry to Vinhaven day before yesterday. Great ride out. It leaves on time! Do not be late. Great views from the ferry and good visit to Vinhaven.
Great ferry service run by the State of Maine. The boats are always in good condition and clean. Please note during tourist season in the summer months it's almost impossible to get a spot for a vehicle.
I have travelled on the ferries to Vinalhaven and North Haven for over 60 years. The crew is friendly and helpful and the new boat is wonderful
When you come to Maine make sure you visit the islands off the coast. The ferry service transports cars as well as people. However it may be difficult to get a place for your car on the ferry so it may be better to take a bicycle and see the islands that way.
We had read TA reviews that scared us a little that the employees were short with people who didn't know what they were doing. Our experience was totally the opposite. The employees at the Rockland Terminal went out of their way to be patient and helpful! For $17.50 per adult round trip to Vinalhaven. The trip was 1:15 and leaves... 更多
I love this island. For only $35 or so we can spend 75 minutes each way on a relaxing ferry and walk around a town lost in time. Make sure you leave your car on the Mainland. You won't need it and it could cause you grief getting a spot to come back. What a wonderful way to spend the... 更多
For $20 and three hours we were able to visit one of the off shore islands. During the journey we saw cars and trucks loading the ferry, working lobster boats, bald eagles, and breathtaking scenery. The guys at the Maine Ferry Service were particularly helpful and welcoming!
Even tho on open Penobscot Bay, every where you look mountains, shoreline, watercraft and fishermen can be seen. A drive around Isleboro ending at Pendleton Pt with a picnic makes a day to remember and is worthwhile. Good insurance that you will get the ferry schedule that suits you requires a reservation in both directions. Missing the last ferry from... 更多
Ferries are a great way to see the islands. Love to take the Islesboro ferry for a day trip. Be sure you know when the last ferry back is & ask the ferrymen how crowded they expect the trip to be. No problem for bikes & walkers but you do want to be sure your car gets a ride back!
