South Portland is a lively and personable place. Lots of small restaurants, shops, parks, several lighthouses and lots more. It is less touristy and full of nice people who will be happy to see you.
It was a beautiful view off the bridge as we rode over. It's a draw bridge, but luckily it didn't need to go up either time we went across it.
While on a trolley tour we crossed the Casco Bay Bridge twice and had wonderful views of the Portland Port area and of our Carnival Sunshine Ship in Port.
Everyone should take the time to go. The view is nothing short of beautiful. Being at that level puts you at an advantage to see an amazing view
We were looking to get off Commercial Street to find our way back to Spring Street, but just like in other urban environments we were hampered by one way streets as we headed further and further away from my objective. The bridge linking Portland with South Portland has four lanes of traffic and offers a great view of Portland Harbor. At times, the traffic will have to wait for the drawbridge to life and allow barges and other ships to pass through.
A Very long Drawbridge connecting Broadway and Commercial Street that is rarely open. Driving over the bridge offers nice views of the harbor but the best views of the bridge itself can only be seen from out in Portland Harbor on a boat.
This bridge is very nice to drive across. I love the view from this bridge and it crosses from Commercial St to Broadway. This is a draw bridge so occasionally the bridge could be up but does not take very long if it does.
It is a fairly long drawbridge and the view is very nice. I made a wrong turn and there we went. Personally we love driving over waterways so it didn't hurt at all. It would have been cool if the draw bridge would have needed to open, but alas it was just a regular bridge on our way over and... 更多
