Loved this stop. Beautiful mountain in one of my favorite places. You can either park at the bottom and hike up the trails, or drive up a windy, paved road and park in the lot at the top. This is a relatively small mountain (<700 feet above sea level) but has a vast wooded view with the ocean in the... 更多
I had not been to Mt. Agamenticus for many years. It was a pleasant surprise to return. The trail system has been improved markedly. But the real dessert is is arriving at the summit after the 45 minute walk upwards. The peak has seen the addition of several well-labelled viewing platforms with breathtaking views. It's close to the NH Seacoast... 更多
Our group explored Mt Agamenticus. Some drove up with picnic provisions while others hiked up. The views are amazing. There are a number of picnic tables, and there are many different trails to choose from.
we did not hike but saw a couple trails. It was a clear day and we saw the White Mountains in New Hampshire from here. Great views to just sit and enjoy or have a picnic and break from your hike. No trash cans as you take out what you bring in and they have port a potties for restrooms.... 更多
Wonderful 360 degree view of the world (OK Southern Maine, New Hampshire and the Atlantic Ocean. Great lookout. No climbing unless you want to do it on their revitalized trails. The observation deck, education lodge, and look-out boards enhance the exploration. The look-out boards are located at all four points of the compass and show you what you are looking... 更多
Mt. Agamenticus was formerly a ski area which is now a conservation area. There is a road to the summit for driving or bicycling and various hiking trails. Either way, it's a pretty short journey. Views from the top are excellent, especially on a clear day. One can see the White Mountains to the North, Vermont peaks to the west,... 更多
Hike, bike or drive up to the peak and have panoramic views of southern Maine. Pack a picnic and enjoy. Free to the public. There was a visitors center but was closed. We took gorgeous pictures of each other with the picturesque back ground. A can't miss stopover if you are in the area.
Enjoyed a nice drive up Mt. A this past weekend. Although there are many hiking trails, for the first time we decided to drive and just check it out. You can access the mountain from York or Ogunquit and it is a short drive up Mountain Rd. There are picnic tables available and lots to see. We observed many bald... 更多
A local was kind enough to tell us about this scenic place with hiking trails. We even enjoyed the drive there away from the main town. There were signs for turtle crossings which we’ve never seen. We spent about an hour walking. It’s very peaceful and scenic offering many views.
