Being an engineer, my husband is especially interested in everything mechanical. He enjoyed the Stanley Steemer cars as well as the technical drawings done by the Stanleys. This museum is small, but fascinating. The staff are friendly and eager to share their store of knowledge about the Stanley family. We spent a wonderful couple of hours at this museum on each of two days on our recent stay in Maine.
This is a small gem of a museum lovingly watched over by docents who know their subject matter and give you personalized tours. The museum houses three beautiful, restored Stanley Steamer automobiles which would be luxury cars even today.
