In general, I don't love Maine beaches because water is too cold for swimming. We spent 1/2 day at Gooch's beach. We had a parking pass from our B&B. We found a space on a side street. There are Porto-potties, no bath house. No snack shop. Sand was soft, a bit sea-weedy. It was relaxing but isn't a top draw... 更多
The best beaches around Kennebunk are Gooch or Parson as far as I am concerned. Really nice sand and fairly wide even when the tide is high. It is best to pick up a free newspaper or tidechart at HB Provisions to know which waybtje tide is coming before setting up.
Beautiful beach day, 93 deg inland, easily 10 deg cooler at Kport beach. Two long walks. Swimming in relatively cold water but felt great on a hot day, had parking pass from Inn we where we stayed. Great time.
We spent two half days at this beach, one afternoon that was a perfect beach day and the next morning which was overcast and cool. Both days the beach was pretty empty and we had an unobstructed view of the ocean. There are porte-potties on either end of the beach, which is convenient. Don't drive here if you can avoid... 更多
Great walking and family beach right at the end of the Kennebunk River. When the tide is out there is tons of space for kids and families to play. You'll catch lots of boats heading out to sea.
We visited Kennebunkport the weekend before the 4th of July, so we were pleasantly surprised to find a spot on the beach with plenty of room to stretch out, play beach games and just relax. The beach is beautiful and easily accessible from town. We borrowed bikes from our hotel and the ride was a breeze - parking looked like... 更多
Dogs are allowed on the beach before 9am or after 5 pm. Very dog friendly environment on this long stretch of sand. parking along the beach is permitted by meter ticket.
Great beach, wide sandy area. Need parking pass for free parking, otherwise pay via a "muni-meter" with credit card. Bring a wet suit if you are going in the water!!
Took the bikes for a ride out to the beach. It's not far from town. A good walk or short bike ride. Loved it. There were lots of people riding, walking, hanging out & exploring the rocks. Cool spot.
