Walker's Point AKA the summer home of George Bush ( senior) is a very picturesque spot... Spouting Rock is nearby and also worth seeing ( at high tide)... The road to Walker's Point has many magnificent "summer cottages'... Go early for parking.
If you're in the Kennebunk Port area, Maine, the Bush Family compound is worth a look. Unlike the Kennedy Compound in Hyannisport, Massachusetts which is hidden by trees and foliage, the Bush compound is located on a small peninsula in Maine so quite visible from a distance, since no trees impede the views. Getting a parking spot on Ocean Road... 更多
We drove up the coast with Kennebunkport as a destination - a stop to see Walker's Point was definitely on our agenda. We were lucky to find a parking spot - it's a beautiful piece of history.
Gazing at the beautiful Bush compounding a beautiful August day was fun for us. Nice to glimps how the other half lives. The water/waves are beautiful. I wouldn't go out of my way to go to Walkers Point but if you're near by be sure to see it.
Walker's Point by land or sea is something you must see while in Kennebunkport, Maine. The summer residence of former First Lady and 41st President Barbara and George Bush, it is spectacular property jutting out into the ocean.
You can get within photo-taking distance of this residence of the Bush family (whether by land or by sea - I did both), because the Secret Service have it very well protected.
