This beautiful church was erected over 250 years ago by a community that was expelled from their homeland and came to south Louisiana to start new lives. The church became the center of spiritual and family life. It has been maintained by the village of St. Martinville and the Catholic church to be enjoyed and revered by all who come... 更多
Our son's wedding will be held here in August and we were so excited to get to go see this beautiful Catholic Church. It was absolutely stunning and mesmerizing!! If you are ever in Saint Martinville, I highly recommend you take a few minutes to tour this beautiful church.
It was lovely inside and out, a beautiful historic building on the Bayou Teche. The grounds are well-maintained, and its proximity to the Evangeline Oak and the Acadian Memorial make it a must-see.
We wanted to visit the acadian memorial, but they had decided to close it for father's day. Too bad for us. We enjoyed this nice church in the heart of St Martinville though, and wandered along Bayou Teche
What a wonderful surprise! The church's interior was stunning and the grounds were beautiful. Statues throughout the church, most of them lifesize.
The church is beautiful inside and out. Statues on the ground include one of Evangeline. An easy walk to the museums and Evangeline Oak as well as the Cultural Heritage Center (stop here first for a map of the area).
Went to Saint Martinville for a day trip with my older parents. Had a lovely lunch at the Cajun King across the street from the church. Then which took a stroll and visited the church it is a lovely old church with plenty of architectural details.

Seems the Presbytery is in need of some major renovations to keep it in good repair. My suggestion would be to have tours by donation as this home is like going back into time. I'd also suggest... 更多

St. Roch is the french name for St. Rocco - our grandson is named Rocco! As you leave the church walk to the side and there is the statue of Evangeline. Then cross the... 更多
