This is a wonderful old place to visit, the history and beauty just remarkable. Go around Christmas time, and see the beautiful decorations and poinsettias. The staff are very knowledgeable about the mansion, and will tell you stories about it, if you take time to listen.
Our tour of the Old Governor’s Mansion was a highlight experience of our visit to Baton Rouge. Huey Long was one of those larger-than-life characters whose life story reads like fiction. If these walls could only talk! We had a friendly, knowledge guide for our nearly one-hour tour. I lagged behind to take lots and lots of photos. The murals... 更多

The front view of the Old Governor's Mansion looks like a small version of the White House. that first view gives you a hint about one of the residents of the Governor's Mansion and his vision of grandeur. The mansion has personal memorabilia from Huey Long and all the other Governors of Louisiana that resided in this mansion. The building... 更多
Wonderful and unique state capitol with stained-glass domed atrium, stunning history, knowledgeable staff and you may explore at your leisure. If you love history, don't miss this. Be sure to ask about the resident ghosts!
Two places not to be missed are the Old State House and the Old Governor's Mansion. The mansion has personal memorabilia from Huey Long. The building has been restored and furnished for that time frame. The guides seemed to love the house and willingly shared their information.
One of the best tours. We were the only visitors at the time & we were there for almost 2 hours. The tours are given by volunteers who are extremely knowledgeable & if you are interested, they will give you a very detailed account of the politics & history of Baton Rouge. Loved the back stories on all of the... 更多
There was a "staff event" with just a piece of paper on the door on a Tuesday morning, our only day in Baton Rouge, so we were kind of disappointed. It was a pretty walk up to the door though, with a fountain and those majestic columns. Wish they'd had their staff event after hours though, so we could have... 更多
Very interesting and informative. Guided tour took about 30 minutes and included a short history of all the governor's who lived in the mansion, some quite colorful.
