Just a quarter mile trail but very steep. The trail through the woods is nicer and easier than the climb up the paved road. There is not much to see. The breastworks stand almost 17' high. Fort Duffield has history of our soldiers. For a short 1/2 mile uphill walk you can explore the Fort Duffield. There is a cemetary for the departed soldiers during the War. Self-guided walking tour of Union stronghold in Kentucky. Included the cemetery and general area of the fort. Very few structures, but a beautiful area. It was an uphill walk to view the fort.
The entrance can appear rather quick on the road, keep your eyes peeled.
