This is a great little museum that tells the history of Confederate general Lloyd Tilghman. Lots of great exhibits and period artifacts. Quick visit. Can be seen in an hour or so. Worth a stop.
I had heard about the Tilgman House Museum before my visit to Paducah. It was one of my main reasons for my visit to the Paducah area. Our guide Bill Baxter, the administrator gave a very compressive tour. This museum has a amazing collection of civil war artifacts. Bill introduces us to General Tilgman and his years in Paducah. He... 更多

Lloyd Tilghman was the only General of the War Between the States to be from Paducah. He came to Paducah with the Ohio and New Orleans RR. This house was his and his families for a while. There is much more. You need to hear the importance of the control of the rivers was in determining the end result of... 更多
We visited this not really expecting anything but a self guided tour. What we got was a guided tour by someone who loves history and Paducah. He was very informational and we learned many things not the least of which was the orphan brigade in the civil war they even had a flag. Well worth the entrance fee of $5.
We were pleasantly surprised by the tour guides knowledge of the Civil war. Was able to raise a heavy rifle up onto my shoulder to experience what the poor soldiers had to bear. THanks
The personal tour guide was terrific, knowledgeable and personable. He stayed an extra hour after the posted closing time to show us the amazing artifacts and tell us the stories behind them. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!
For only a small fee...this little hidden gem is worth the look, spent 2 hrs and a window into the past, guide was super informative. Don't bring small children...too many things to break. Great look into Civil war era
