There are a lot of really nice things to see and do here. Good restaurants. Worth the visit. When I was there a lot of construction was going on around that took away a little...but it will be even better when done.
In the general area and did a lot of walking and sightseeing. From Jim Beam Urban Stillhouse, Evan Williams Experience, Louisvuille Slugger Museum, Lunch at Troll Pub Under the Bridge, Dinner at BBC (Bluegrass Brewing Co). Lots of interesting architecutre and photo ops - but also some areas of construction and pedestrian detours.
We had some time during the day on a Sunday visit to explore, and we took a Uber from the airport area for about $12. We had the driver drop us off at the Great Lawn, but I wouldn't recommend that. Wonderful place to walk and stroll lots to see and so and the building were wonderful. Great mixture of new and old and art Deco. We had a wonderful experience and everything is so compact and easy access.
This is a MUST SEE if you visit or live in Louisville. The old buildings are beautiful and a reminder of how things were in our hay day.
A must see. Across street from Louisville Slugger Museum. New 1776 Minute Man statue on sidewalk is awesome!
This beautiful and historic area of Downtown Louisville is being preserved and restored. Old store fronts feature businesses, restaurants and museums. The existing and expanding "Whiskey Row" features active distilleries producing the world famous "Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey" and serves as a starting point for the "Kentucky Bourbon Trail".
