We visited this zoo and was surprised to find out that it was free. They operate on donations. It had a bear, mountain lion, raccoons, birds, wolves, llamas, bison, monkeys, lemurs, and more. Nothing fancy, but a nice find while visiting this part of Kansas. The zoo is within walking distance to a park/playground with many slides and climbing areas.
We like visiting zoos wherever we vtravel. We were unsure what to expect from this small zoo. First off, the admission is free. There are some nice animals at this zoo. You are closer to them than most zoos. We really enjoyed the morning at Dodge City Zoo.

For a smaller town, this is a nice zoo to visit. They had a baby buffalo that we saw along with some smaller animals. It's free and there is a place at the entrance to make a donation if you want to.
We have visited several times and especially love being able to feed the animals with the feed provided in the quarter machines. There is a beautiful park attached with great swings, monkey bars, etc.

Yes, this is a small zoo. This time they had a new addition of a baby lemur that was riding on it's Moms back. The animals are well cared for and active.
