Swung by here just to see the reconstructed prairie sod house and wound up really enjoying the inside collection displays as well! The small farmhouse was a cute little piece of history and also enjoyed the farming displays in the Huge barn. Well worth the stop!
What a great place! We needed to pause in our journey and saw this on the map. We were here over an hour, which is a lot for us. Outside there is a mixture of old buildings, schoolrooms, barns, etc, with artifacts that gave a feel for the period. Information boards were informative and easy to read. Inside was a... 更多
This museum was across the interstate from our hotel. What a keeper! It is surprisingly large with numerous exhibits of esoterica: a whole collection of military uniforms from WWI forward, with excellent information about the changes each war brought about; a china doll collection, a really thorough glass collection; a homestead from the Dust Bowl era; the largest barn in... 更多
I would recommend anyone having time to stop in a most interesting museum with a great presentation. I guarantee u will not be disappointed. A diverse array of items from a family collection.
Worth a stop if you're driving through on I-70. A two-part museum, the inside has a pretty decent collection of all sorts of old things, from stamps and coins to toys to military uniforms and a lot more. More than you'd expect in the space available. Outside is a small community set up with original buildings from the area -... 更多
It is well worth taking the exit off the interstate to visit this little museum. Inside it houses a series of collections so a bit of a mish mash but so, so interesting. It tells the story about the beginnings of Colby and the interesting events and folk that have shaped the town. Outside is a great experience with old... 更多
The inside exhibits were not as interesting as the outside ones. We enjoyed the antique furniture, and the toy exhibits. Outside was our favorite with the barn, school house, church, house, and sod house were cool. We enjoyed looking at the history of the structures and liked that it was hands on. But with not much to do in Colby,... 更多
I only got to see the inside part of the museum, due to heavy snow. Admission fee $8. Length of visit 1 hour. Plan for double that if you are able to visit the outside areas. You will see a huge collection of relics from prairie life, as well as local history. There are collections of everything from stamps, coins,... 更多
We must have driven by this place 20 times on our way to/from Colorado on I70 and never stopped until this year. OUTSTANDING museum! They had numerous buildings, including a gigantic barn, old house, one room school, church, all from the 1870-1920 era. The indoor museum was an extremely diverse collection of many different things that came form the area... 更多
