Made a quick stop at Turkey Run during a drive through Indiana. Really nice park with several trails traversing box canyons, dense forest, and rivers. There is camping in addition to a park lodge. Only got to stay a few hours for a bit of hiking but there looks like a ton more to explore. Can't wait to go back.
I have brought my grandkids here twice and we have made lifelong memories. I should say, I used to bring my own kids here. I am an avid hiker, and the hikes here are among the best in the U.S. The hikes are challenging and fun and the scenery is beautiful. There is also canoeing and kayaking available. The lodge... 更多
There are some challenges, so be careful where you choose to hike. Young children should be left at home. Take water and snacks, along with your camera. Comfortable and water-proof shoes.
We love turkey run. Trail 3 is our favorite but rough if you have real small kids mine however love it (ages 9, 7, 5 and 3) If you go to the nature center it isn't much but in the mornings at 10 you can help feed the birds, one of my kids favorite things. My kids also love to... 更多
This park is big and has lots of different activities. You can hike the wonderful trails, swim in the huge pool, kids can play on one of the small playgrounds, there is LOTS of open space great for frisbee or football, eat in the park restaurant, hang out in the lodge rec room or game room, spend a night in... 更多
This place is beautiful! The hiking is moderately rugged and a good pair of hiking boots is suggested, but we had a blast. There are some wet slippery areas, thus the good boots. The area of Rock Hollow is gorgeous and fun to explore. Would not recommend for very little children unless you want to carry.
This is a fun place to hike. We had a picnic and then hiked for about 4 hours, which was about right. The "very rugged" trail #3 was interesting and tricky at points (some boulders and slippery stream beds to navigate, along with a few ladders to climb) but it wasn't grueling or dangerous for our group of teenagers and... 更多
We were visiting relatives in Indiana and originally stopped at this park on our way to Indianapolis to see the covered bridge that is a part of the park. We ended us missing the road for the bridge (which can be seen without actually entering the park) and paid to enter the State Park. So we decided to hike and... 更多
