This house still had 80% of the furnishings that were there when Riley lived there. It is a good example of what the state of the art was in furnishings, baths, kitchens, etc. Riley's history was described by a knowledgeable guide, though details of his poems were not given, other than that he wrote many poems for children. My kids and I really enjoyed seeing this beautiful home! It is exactly as it was when Mr. Riley lived there - the carpets, wall coverings, furniture, stenciling, etc. are the original furnishings. The street is still cobblestone and there are lovely historic homes surrounding this one. The visitors' center is really nice and the grounds are very pretty. Our... 更多
