There was a large meeting that day, so we were not able to take a tour, but we were able to walk around the grounds and go inside the church. It is lovely and the grounds are pristine. The adjacent (and ancient) cemeteries are interesting and provide interesting history.
The tour of the Monastery was wonderful. The grounds and church are drenched in history. They have recently added a craft brewery on the site and my husband was very pleased with it.
The monastery and grounds are worth the trip any time of the year. Only about 5 minutes north of 64. Take the time to stop. You will not regret it.
