Lovely nature trails, historic grain grinding mill which is still in operation, beautiful flower gardens, pleasant meadows for picnicking, running along the picturesque Little Elkhart River, make this part a true gem of Northern Indiana.
We visited on a Tuesday and the Mill itself is closed Monday and Tuesday. Even so, we enjoyed getting out and walking about with our dog. The park is well maintained and very enjoyable.
This park is enjoyed by locals and visitors. There is the old mill, a Dahlia garden, an herb garden, and walking trails through the woods, along the river and by a beautiful waterfall. Also a picnic area and an open field.
The mill and gift shop were not open the day we stopped at this park, so it was very quiet. We enjoyed great blue herons, huge dahlias, a well-kept herb garden, the mill race and ponds. There were several walking trails for another visit.
Bonneyville Mill has history, nature, photo ops, and a very relaxing atmosphere. The mill is operational Wed - Sun during the summer/fall. Interesting to explore. The dahlia garden is very beautiful - full of many different varieties. The staff is friendly and helpful. A very pleasant experience.
This is a nice, relaxing county park, east of Bristol, Indiana. Nice picnic areas, hiking trails that take you through wooded areas and along streams, and there are pavilions you can reserve for events. The center piece is an operating, water driven mill. When the gift shop is open, you can even purchase flour that has been produced there. Admission... 更多
On a sunny fall day, my biker honey and I rode to Bonneyville Mill CP. Enjoyed the views, fall color and flowers. The gentlemen inside the mill, "manning the little shop and the mill" were more than happy to show us how the mill works, grinding corn into cornmeal and told us some of the local history. A very enjoyable... 更多
We stopped here to see the Mill but had a little time to walk around the park. Beautiful scenery. We were there on a Sunday and there were several families there taking family pictures - can't beat the backdrop! The mill was open and operating (grinding cornmeal). Very interesting and quite unique. Don't miss the opportunity to buy either the... 更多
I've been to lots of old mills before but this one was unique. First let me say it is very well maintained, there was a interpreter working who gave use a demonstration at our request. He ran the mill and explained how all the equipment worked. The mill is several stories tall and it had several different kinds of flower... 更多
