Moraine Hills State Park is a great place to get in touch with nature. Great trails, and fantastic natural area. Worth spending the time there.
It was forecasted for the sun to be out and it was. I thought it would be a nice jog and it was very much so. I even slept in the sun, on the grass. Only showers missed at the end.
This is a surprisingly large wooded park with walking trails (cross-country ski trails in the winter). The feature is the park building overlooking Lake Defiance. From that point trails stretch in every direction, in one case even connecting neighboring McHenry Dam State Park through an under-road viaduct.
Great trails for jogging, hiking or biking at Moraine Hills. Mountain bike tires or cross over tires would be better than slick street tires, due to varied trails. Park is family friendly. Toilets, water and Picnic shelters available at different sites. Pick up a Map as you enter the park for trail distances, etc. There is an office/nature center and... 更多
Miles of walking and cycling trails. Part of the park includes shelter areas and places for picnic. When it is open, the ranger station is interesting and includes a see into Bee Hive. Definitely worth a visit and dog friendly!
We walk there many times throughout the summer. It is very well kept and wide walking trails so you can walk side by side. This year was just really bad for ticks. Not the norm. Hopefully, it will be better next year. Overall a really nice park.
We run here often because their are so many different paths and distances you can go. Great in the winter time for sledding and cross country skiing, even running when the path only has a little snow on it is fun.
We were there today on two mile hike with our beagle. Breathtaking views and Autumn colors. Waterfowl in abundance. The dam is surely a highlight of the park.
lots of bike and hiking trails. part of it is along the Fox River and you can go fishing. There are areas to picnic and by the river there is a place to by bait or have a drink or ice cream.
