This is what my wife calls a "drive by". That means we drive by, hop out to get a picture, and get back in the car. It's a great stop to let everyone stretch their legs, see a huge covered wagon, get their picture made, then move on down the road.
Another must stop for Route 66 travelers. The covered wagon is incredibly large and you need to have a person stand next to it in the photo just to get an idea of how big it is. A quick stop.
A neat sight.I don`t think you can climb on and take a selfie. The wagon cover is not always on.I don`t know why.If you stop to eat in town or have a few minutes stop by.
As we were driving up Historic Route 66, we came across this huge wagon. You can not miss it! It is a fun photo opportunity and there is no question that kids (and adults) will get a big kick out of it. This is what Route 66 used to be with attractions like this, along the way.
The railsplitter Covered Wagon (cover was missing) was right out front of the Best Western Hotel we stayed at in Lincoln. It is worth pulling over for to check out and take a picture or two.
It big and a great photo op for a trip on Route 66. Take a few minutes to walk around to see the detail of it. Yes, I understand it is not historically correct but its fun and a tourist thing for Lincoln, ILL. The kids will get a kick out of it
