People thought I went somewhere in Florida when they saw the curved shorelines - the aesthetic is unreal in this place. Water is kept clean. As far as parking, we parked for free at the Ravinia school and took a ~15mt walk to the beach. No tickets issued. Totally worth it!
Enjoy the newly re-built beach, of course, and especially the real bathrooms, finally, but also go up the stone steps on the south end for a workout, traipse through the Jens Jensen landscape and newly planted beds, and hike down the path by the ravine back to the beach for another round. Great exercise no matter the weather.
Every time the weather is good enough to visit the beach to head to Rosewood. The new installations make it easy to hang there for longer periods of time. Very clean and good parking is available.
The beautiful Rosewood Beach now features sheltered swimming areas, lovely sand beach, cool seating areas, and playground facilities. There is also an education building where they hold classes and yoga.
I just love what they have done to the new improved Rosewood beach. The playground, picnic tables and benches are fantastic. Great place to have a picnic dinner or spend a sunny day at the beach. You must have a Highland Park parking sicker to park in the lot.
Rosewood beach is where I spent most of my summer 2016!!! There's always room on the beach. The views are incredible! Perfect for going in the water, there isn't too many rocks to bother your feet. The snack bar is great and not too overpriced! Food is pretty good, everything is clean and well kept. Great beach
This beach is beautiful. The city spent a ton of money, and it shows. It is now a top-notch beach with nice calm swimming areas, nice beach, and a nice facility for nature classes and yoga inside and out (weather permitting).
HIghland Park's Rosewood Beach has experienced an overhaul and the waiting was certainly worth it! A breath taking view of Lake Michigan still exists like before but now there are nice changing/bathrooms, a concession stand, picnic tables, benches and sunning chairs built right into the natural environment. There is even a glass room nature center for indoor events. THe old... 更多
A couple of years ago the City of Highland Park and the Park District recreated an older beach on Lake Michigan. It has a boardwalk, Nature Center, Sand beach swimming area. Trails up to an overlooking park on the bluff above the lake. If you are not a resident you will not be able to park close by, but there... 更多
Stumbled upon this by accident. Parking is supposedly 'permit parking only' for locals, but as someone just passing through, this is stupid and very non-egalitarian. I disregarded it and went on a nice hike down the trail to mysterious little places on trails that look like they may have been popular public places at one point, but were shut down... 更多
