I've been to many house museums and I was impressed by the amount of interactive material that they had at Hull-House. They brought forward many thought provoking questions in relation to social issues which I thought was an interesting way to involve guests. They did a great job at making a connection between the current time and that of Jane... 更多

Jane Addams was a force that brought about many changes we take for granted today. This is her home with some original furniture, some really interesting artifacts and other exhibits. There is a diorama of the original Hull House Settlement that is fascinating. The historical text that goes with the objects and furniture around the home are interesting.

We went on a guided tour which was very interesting and we would recommend anyone else interested in social history to do so as well. It is amazing to see how Jane Addams together with the whole settlement tried not just do to charity, but truly to transform city life. By the way: Addams was also the first US woman... 更多

We went here because our Rockford history includes much about Jane Addams. We also wanted to to a little undercover ghost-hunting. It was easy to get to by CTA and the cab back to our car, parked near Rush Medical, was a smooth 6.50! The house is small but very well kept and the staff was knowledgeable and courteous without... 更多

This little museum is packed with history and information. I was particularly impressed by the way they combine the old and the new, with social justice, community organizing, and art from the late 1800s to today. There are interactive exhibits for the young and the inquisitive, as well as antiques for the antiquarian. Took a good hour to go through... 更多

If you are a social worker, this is a must. Jane Addams' Hull House is the birth place for what has become social work in the US. It was amazing to see where it all began, but sad to realize we are still fighting the same fight over many of the same issues!

Visiting a college campus is always fun and Hull-House makes this very meaningful. So much history to absorb in this wonderful homeplace. Easy to locate and close to Greektown for dinner,

The house is gorgeous and what Ms. Addams did for the people is amazing. Take the time to read the information or you could miss some really interesting tidbit!

Exquisitely restored house with interesting displays on the settlement house and its part in Chicago and U.S. history. I was stunned by a model depicting the scale of the settlement (multiple buildings covering a huge area) at its peak, and the energy and determination devoted to social studies and social welfare. The house-by-house plots of race and income are dramatic... 更多

The Hull house commemorated and taught me about the multifaceted radical life of Jane Addams and her fight for rights for immigrants and laborers, the 8 hour working day, women's suffrage, and child labor laws in 19th century Chicago. Upstairs there was a gallery of modern facts about wages and work and creative ideas from think tanks about possible solutions... 更多
