The reservoir is little more than a place to store water for Boise. Without a boat this lake has little to offer. If your visiting and looking for scenic view, do yourself a favor and just drive to McCall
Don't know that I'll ever get used to narrow, winding dirt roads but man is it pretty out there. Super short drive from downtown. People camp and fish on the beach/shore of the reservoir. Great for an afternoon picnic, fishing, or camping. I'm a fan.

We visited Arrowrock Dam and Reservoir as we drove into Boise. Its a good area to explore with fishing and boating opportunities. We saw several boats on the lake even though it was close to sunset. We liked the scenic views as well as we drove along Idaho 21.
