St. John's is next to St. Joseph's Catholic School. On Tuesday mornings at 8:30 during the school year, the cathedral is filled with children, teachers and other worshipers. It's great to see young people help lead the mass. This is my favorite kind of antique: the kind that still is working. Go and enjoy!
This is a beautiful church -- the architecture of the building is magnificent. The Easter cross was still in front of the church and touched my soul. We arrived too late on Friday to enter -- a definite must when we visit again.
I went to mass here almost every single Tuesday for 7 years because I went to school at the private Catholic school right next to it from kidregarden until 6th grade. Although I'm not actually a devoted Catholic anymore, this place is definitely one of the most beautiful places in Boise. Fun place to explore.
The magnificent church bells rang as I exited a nearby building and I had to stop and hold on to the magic of the soul. This building is gorgeous and historic and majestic with its stained glass windows, spires and sense of history.
This beautiful cathedral is packed with elaborate stained glass windows, statues, breathtaking color and marble. The organ takes up the entire mezzanine level and is not to be missed.
This is a beautiful Catholic church with wonderful acoustics. I remember being overtaken with awe the first time I walked in. Blessed to marry my wife here, and visit every time I'm back in Boise. Also, check out the prayer garden behind the church. It's a nice quiet, tucked-away corner of the city.
We visited St. John's Cathedral; its the first catholic church in Boise and the seat of the Diocese of Boise. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
St. John's is a beautiful cathedral in downtown near the capitol building. The outside is impressive, but the inside is quite beautiful. I attended a Saturday night Mass which I found very prayerful. The music was beautiful and the people were all nice. Definitely worth it if you need a place to sit and pray.
My wife and I were married here! Old historic cathedral with stained glass artwork throughout. Very beautiful church. If you are going for Sunday services be on time because church tends to fill up for the 11 o'clock mass.
