When Jimmie Carter was president he approved adding the Chattahoochee park system in Atlanta to the National Park Inventory. About five years ago the trail systems were upgraded by placing trail maps along all the trails. This enabled hikers to find their way amongst the many trails, and opened up the parks to great hiking. There are at least six... 更多
I visited the Powers Island area on a Sunday morning in April, on my way out of Atlanta. It is a very pleasant place to take a walk along the river on a spring morning. There are trails leading from the parking lot into the woods along the river, and a bridge just off the parking lot leads to Powers... 更多
Just the right trails for unwinding. The trails (at least where I was) are along the Chattahoochee River! Very few people for a Sunday, making my walk rather relaxing. I've lived nearby for 18 months and this recreation area is absolutely worth the annual fee. It's perfect for people of all activity levels. It's pet friendly and family friendly. Apart from all of that, it's gorgeous! The trails are extremely well maintained as well.

A beautiful spot with rocks peaking up above... 更多

One of the main ones was flooded and a lot of them were very primitive. It is a good area for bird watching, though. The architecture of... 更多
Canoeing down the Chattahoochee was a wonderful outing today for us less experienced adults and children. We rented canoes from Shoot the Hooch in Roswell off Azalea Drive and their website provided accurate information. Kayaks, paddleboards were available but we chose a 3 person flat bottom canoe for maximum stability and we were suited up with life jackets and paddles.... 更多
