The Chattahoochee River and this Recreation Area is kept up by the Parks Service as a refuge from Atlanta and its busy traffic and noise. There are many walkways, as well as trails, to enjoy.
I walk daily and amp it up by trying out different trails in my area. Lucky me the Chattahooche National Forest trails are easy for me to access. I spent about 3 hours scouring the trails around this area and enjoyed the scenery, the segment of the Chattahoochee River that it parallels, and the geology and wildlife. Great place to visit. Wear bug spray! There's a rehabilitation center that you can visit. Local artists shows/sales in the welcome center are always worth seeing.Nice walking paths.
