I walk daily and amp it up by trying out different trails in my area. Lucky me the Chattahooche National Forest trails are easy for me to access. Was so thrilled to find this national park practically in my own back yard. Beautiful, peaceful, well kept. Will surely be going back again and again to see it in every season.
I spent about 3 hours scouring the trails around this area and enjoyed the scenery, the segment of the Chattahoochee River that it parallels, and the geology and wildlife. Great place to visit. Wear bug spray! There's a rehabilitation center that you can visit. Local artists shows/sales in the welcome center are always worth seeing.Nice walking paths.
When Jimmie Carter was president he approved adding the Chattahoochee park system in Atlanta to the National Park Inventory. About five years ago the trail systems were upgraded by placing trail maps along all the trails.
