Our family of 4 enjoyed our visit to the Lighthouse. This is still a working lighthouse with a rich history. The house is very nicely set up with the historical explanation downstairs and rooms set up to be historically accurate upstairs. The lighthouse is very well maintained. Although there are 129 steps to the top, there is a landing every... 更多
The lighthouse is pretty cool. It's 129 steps to the top, steeper as you go higher. But there are platforms with windows to catch your breath every 20-25 steps. The views from the top are excellent and worth the hike up. The museum at the bottom is small but interesting. There's a surprising amount of history and culture that attaches... 更多
Captain Fertig took on a Lighthouse Trolley excursion throughout St. Simons Island. One of the highlights of the day was a stop at the Lighthouse and Museum, a few blocks from the Pier retail and restaurant area. Lots of unique historical facts and information. The young lady who gave us the tour was very informative. The trek up the steps... 更多
The Lighthouse Museum and park is a nice way to spend the afternoon in downtown Saint Simon. It has an interesting history as explained in the museum section of the tourist spot and is a site at night when fully lit. It is a nice way to spend the afternoon if it rains learning about the history of the island... 更多
The SSI lighthouse is one of the most beautifully kept and cared for spots on the island. It has a knowledgeable curator with a neat little display of what life was like as the "keeper" of the lighthouse. You can climb the 140+ curved stairs to the top to take in a great view of the pier, bridge, and coast... 更多
We were camping in Brunswick and drove here searching for a bite for lunch on a Sunday, and were pleasantly surprised to find this gem of a place. A nice seaside village with shops and dining options, boardwalk pier, picnic/park under gorgeous oak trees, and kids play structure area. The lighthouse museum, swimming pool and miniature golf course are also... 更多
there is a fee for entering the museum, but it is easy to just walk around and enjoy the sites with out paying any fee. Park area with playground for kids. Picnic areas. fishing areas. relaxing and watching the ocean. could spend all day there just enjoying the sites.
