My family decided to head to Juliette for a day trip and after spending time eating at the famous Whistle Stop Cafe and looking at the shops, we headed over to this Plantation. The staff was kind and the video before walking was very informative. We walked around the grounds and the buildings were well preserved. I always find it... 更多
I learned about this place while visiting the Forsyth KOA. It has a number of old buildings, with information about the history of each one. It is a great way to see how people lived in the antebellum era.
Great stop for plantation lovers and history buffs. Self-guided tour was very informative. Disappointed that not all buildings were open, but able to get a good feel for plantation life. Worth taking time before walking the trail to watch the video to get a good understanding of the history of the plantation and the Jarrell family.
Fantastic place to visit, has been kept so original you get to see the evolution of a pre-Civil War plantation. It is a self guided tour but the map and materials you're given make it easy to follow. If you're on your way to or from Macon it's a great side trip.
If you're truly a history buff of the old plantations then this tour is for you. I was hoping to get a flavor of the life and times on a plantation [my vision skewed like many others by Gone With the Wind!] and this certainly provided it. I think it would be most appreciated by families with children or history... 更多
This is an amazing and well preserve place where u can travel back on time and observe how was the life of the early settlers and how slaves and plantation owners live and work. Great preserve structures and tools, will make you understand how hard live was not to long ago
This was an interesting place if you are into history and enjoy it. It's a self guided tour and had a lot of information. Just wish we could of gone into all the buildings. But it was good none the less.
We only stopped here on the drive from Atlanta to Savannah. One of the best decisions we made on the holiday. This place was great, it was big and it was very interesting. If you have any interest in social history this place is a must. I would thoroughly recommend it!!
An interesting insight into the workings of a plantation. Walking self tour, reasonably priced. Informative video to watch also.Quite hilly in some parts so wear flat comfortable shoes
