Very worthwhile particularly for kids. Loved the enthusiasm of the guide who fed the "patients"...raised my awareness of issues that humans cause by polluting ocean waters
As a retired teacher, I always look for the educational benefit of any travel experience The GA Sea Turtle Center ranks tops in my opinion - interesting, fun, and gives visitors lots of new information.
We went with our toddler. The inside has a lot of interactive stuff and a very nice child's area. The sea turtle hospital is very neat. It is small and we didn't spend too much time there but it is definitely worth a visit.
We visited this place for the second time. But, this time we brought our grandkids. They loved it. They learned so much about sea turtles and they enjoyed the displays as well as the tanks that they have the turtles in while nursing them back to health. Was hoping to get a better view of the turtles. Would have liked to get up close to the actual turtles but I understand that its probably not the best thing to have visitors crowd the turtles.
This was our 2nd time visiting the center. The main attraction is the turtle rehab center where injured turtles recover. Kids might get to see turtles be fed or have minor treatments. Second time visiting the center - always a highlight! We did the behind the scenes tour (sign up on their website in advance). Loved getting to visit the treatment room, patient area, and commissary. Always enjoy supporting these awesome people and the work that they do!
