We have eaten there several times - the food is good. Pretty basic place - way less than average restaurant, but pretty common for a BBQ place. Service is ok.

I say "Great" BBQ since it is the type I like best. Somewhat a vinegar base to give it a tangy and lively taste. It's a must to get your name on the hill.
I live in Ellijay and have eaten at Poole's many times. The food is good and the atmosphere down home country. The pig hill of fame is a great gimmick to get travelers in the place and was a genius marketing ploy by the original Col. Poole.
Pooles bbq has the best Brunswick stew around. I like the bbq but I'm not crazy about their bbq sauce. The service is very good and the price is reasonable. Open Wednesday-Sunday
