This state park is so peaceful. It is so laid back. The lake is nice to go fishing in or taking a boat ride. This is a park that you can spend the day at or you can camp overnight. The campgrounds are really nice. The bathhouses are always clean.
This is a smaller yet spacious state park that offers amazing views of the mountains and surrounding towns in the valleys. The drive up to the park is scenic. There is a lake and beach with cottages and campsites, and plenty of hiking trails as well. There is also a restore stone fire tower that is sometimes open for tours.... 更多
I have been to this camp ground twice now. It is in a very scenic place. The campground is awesome. Lots of conveniences, clean, safe, fun, affordable etc. The lake is awesome to relax and cool off after a long hike. Or a moonlit swim if your sneaky like me. Last time I went here is was in the high... 更多
I love the mountains. And Fort Mountain state park is a beautiful spot in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. Picnic, swim, hike, or just a ride on a bike, there's a lot to do for everyone. Enjoy fresh air and sunshine. And find a little bit of heaven.
Georgia if fortunate to have a well manage albeit underfunded state park system. Fort Mountain is one of the finest and provides families, individuals and groups with opportunities to connect with each other and nature. The park is a little more than two hours from downtown Atlanta. Accommodation options range from from tent-site (our preferred option) to cabins, and they... 更多
The hiking and views here are wonderful. Lots of wildflowers and nice picnic areas. Though we didn't use them ourselves, the bike trails looked good as well. I think this is possibly our favourite state park in Georgia so far.
My husband and I decided to tackle this trip without the kiddos, and good thing too. The park is very nice and well maintained, but the elevation changes on the trails are extreme even if just hiking. We tackled a 14 mile hike that was stunning as the leaves were just starting to change... Stunning yet brutal and we are... 更多
We visited Fort Mountain State Park to utilize GA's First Time Camper Program. (2 nights of camping, and a borrowed tent and all the basic supplies you need for your stay for $50). We loved how close the campsites were to the large swimming beach. The park was well kept and the sites were large and well-spaced. Lots to explore... 更多
We went hiking on the mountain trails. There are so many different trails to choose from! Some of the scenery is breathtaking! Waterfalls, lookout landings, the tower, just to name a few. There is a small lake that has a beach area for sunbathing/swimming. Lots of camping lots for tents and motor homes. Cabin rentals, too. Very pleasant place to... 更多
