We found this to be a great spot to sit and relax on our island tour. It was extremely peaceful and a great place to have a quiet moment. This would be a perfect spot to stop and have a picnic style lunch because the compound is so beautiful.
We just happened upon this place whilst driving around and just loved its peace and tranquility. A imposing old house down a long approach drive, its now a theological college. Provided you respect their privacy and walk around quietly, you can wander around the grounds, use their benches etc and take the odd peek inside. No a 'must do', but... 更多
We made a brief stop at Codrington College on a day long island tour. The grounds and exterior of the building are very beautiful. Since the building is currently a seminary there was limited access to the interior. I think a brief stop is a good idea, but one shouldn't assume there will be a lengthy house tour.
Bizarrely TripAdvisor lists Codrington College under Bridgetown, whereas in fact it is on the opposite side of the island. While no distances in Barbados are that great, in feeling it is hundreds of miles from Bridgetown. As with so much in Barbados, information is difficult to obtain, and it’s not even clear from the College’s website whether it is open... 更多
We visited Codrington College on the last day of our Sea Cloud sailing and birding cruise of the Lesser Antilles Islands. The College was open and provided a delightful surprise with its beautiful grounds, architecture and pond full of fish and adorable ducklings . The clean public toilets are always appreciated on a regional tour, but the views of the... 更多
Gorgeous grounds outside and beautiful historic building. Great photo opportunity but unable to go inside as we went there on our own and not with a tour group. We would recommend a guided tour so you can take the best advantage of the historical value of the attraction. Many old buildings surrounding the main structure which are showing wear and... 更多
Lots of history, college dates back to 1745. It was one of the first Caribbean theological colleges. Great architecture and beautiful grounds. Great views of the east coast. Definitely worth a visit.
It is worth stopping here if you are passing by, perhaps as part of a trip elsewhere up the East Coast. The main building itself (and the lead up to it) is very impressive and the lake and surrounding areas are quite tranquil and peaceful so worth a walk around. There are also some clean public toilets in the grounds... 更多
This is worth a visit. I was having a look for a period building that could be used for filming purposes. Its an impressive facade with extensive grounds round the building. A wonderful tree lined drive leads up to the main building.
Historical site. This is and Antique plantation that has since been transformed into a college. It holds alot of history and monuments within the grounds. There is a large park like area where you could have a picnic along with a massive fish pond with kois and a variety of fish species. The college is home to students studying Theology!!!
