Not your typical camping experience. Site 63 and 68 were close to US 301. Traffic noise was unbearable first night and thankful my friend had earplugs for night two which helped me get a good nights sleep. Cost is $5.00 to launch your Kayak from the Canoe Outpost. We paddled upriver and turned around and paddled back to Outpost. The... 更多

Very interesting, displays, friendly staff, great view of the river and alligators. Food was ok. Over done had alligator. Would go again. Great place to take out of towners.

The kayak river trail was fun, some parts were shady and some areas sunny. A little current which was nice, until there was a tree across our path, we tried a few times to pass over, we got stuck, my dad wanted to get out to walk over it. The current was strong, I didn't want to. So we turned... 更多

Beautiful scenic paddling trip. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A must for the outdoor enthusiast.
We agree! Thanks so much for paddling our river and taking the time to post a review. 更多
I've visited this location twice with a marine science group out of USF. We kayak along the river while collecting and testing water and soil samples. Check the water level before scheduling this outing as it determines the amount of paddling and the number of obstacles. Incredibly relaxing and authentic Florida surroundings. Incredibly dependable boarding and return ride arrangements.
Thanks for posting your review. We are always happy to have naturalists and natural science folks come and paddle the... 更多
This was our first time to use a kayak. The guide was excellent, but it was a struggle to paddle back in the bay as the wind was against us - we're over 70 - so plan on being physically fit to do this. Great experience though.

The upper river trail has always been a favorite. You're in the shade most of the time. And the old Railway Bridge is really cool. Unfortunately today my daughter and I had to get out of the boat twice to portage in order to continue the trip. We hit several other bad snags that were a lot of work to... 更多
Thanks for taking the time to post your review of the river. Yes. The upper river is always more challenging... 更多
We loved the Little Manatee Canoe Outpost. We stayed on the hippie bus and it was a wonderful experience. The bus has all the creature comforts you'd find on an RV except a bathroom, but the bathrooms are so well kept. The entire campground is well kept. Great camping spot!!!
The "Cool Bus" or Hippie Bus was a project of my wife Andi. She is so glad that you and... 更多
We had a great trip. All the wildlife was incredible. The river has very clear, clean water and the experience in nature is great. The current is just enough to make it an easy paddle but still be very controllable. We had a few close encounters with manatees, a small alligator, numerous turtles and wading birds. This is a perfect... 更多

It is a 6.5 mile kayak trip, the water flows quickly making it more of a float for most of the trip (the flow slows some towards the end) if you like but no Rapids so it is easy for anyone. A great winter activity as you don't have to get wet. The trip takes about two and a half... 更多
