This is another of our wonderful open spaces maintained by the state. How lucky to have so many public places to enjoy. I like the view of the water as I hike on the trail. I didn't see much wild life but enjoyed the walk, especially the parts in the shade of trees. Scenic, beautiful
Grassy Waters is a must see place. It is a very unique natural area and shows the exquisite beauty of Florida. Free admission and parking! Open about 9-5 most days. Great place for families and couples like us. Mostly handicapped accessible. 3 mixed use toilets. We really enjoyed about an hour of pure Old Florida nature. Surprisingly shady with scattered spots of sheltered rocking chairs. Lots of wildlife!
Loved the peaceful walk and the strategically placed benches....and the displays and Highwaymen art in the mainhouse but we saw 3 birds, one small alligator and heard the grunts of a larger one in the distance. It was midday but at that same time, Wakodahatchee is filled with birds and gators. I would probably try a kayak tour here but... 更多
We took a day on Spring Break to pay a visit to this free attraction and were pleasantly amazed at so many things. Our kids now know what this area looked like to the early settlers and had a chance to spend 45 minutes with the pleasant and helpful ranger in the welcome center.
