Starting from the southern end of the five mile Venetian Trail (easy access from Shamrock Park) along the beautiful inter coastal, riders can head north to connect to the nearly 11 mile Legacy Trail. Trails connect at the historic Venice Train Station. Both trails are fully paved, with occasional benches, shade, parks, informational signs, and beautiful scenic overlooks. Water and... 更多
The only reason I'm putting this as a 5 star review because this is the best bike path in Sarasota. So if you enjoy biking or walking around Florida nature then this is the best spot for you. The cool thing about this path is that it goes right through Oscar scherer state park. This is a rails to trails... 更多
We rode the Legacy Trail on a Tram powered by 2 volunteer peddlars, with out guests from California. We ALL loved it and really appreciated the efforts of our peddlars.
This excellently maintained 11-mile bike trail runs from just downtown Venice to the southern edge of Sarasota. It's a perfect trail for all levels of cyclists: straight and without too many street crossings for those who want a fast, training ride, and pancake flat (the only "hill" is the bridge over U.S. Highway 41) and scenic for those who want... 更多
As avid bikers, we love The Legacy Trail. The trail is a former railroad track that was paved over and runs from Sarasota to Venice, for 11.8 miles. The trail is well maintained, with many rest stops along the way. It is not only for bikers. You will see people walking, jogging, or roller blading. The trail is a great... 更多
We enjoyed this trail several times during our stay, accessing it at different spots between Sarasota and Venice. It's a nice wide, well kept trail that is used by biker, walker and people with pets. Different sections have different personalities, but they all seem to be well used.
The main part of the trail is boring if starting near Sarasota Y. Was constructed on old train tracks~so you see mostly cow pastures. There are birds and small animals early or late. If you want a good long bike ride or very long walk do this. Limited bathroom areas or food items nearby. Come prepared.
If you just want exercise, ok. But, if you are looking for some activity or food along the way, this is not the path. There are no food places and it is basically just tree lined. I much more prefer the loop around Venice or one of the islands.
