There is always something going on in and around the causeway. From fishing to bike riding and so many things in between. Seems like a fun place to relax and hang out.
It's such a fabulous panoramic view of Sanibel and the Gulf and the ICH. I never tire of going over this Causeway. So fun to see people wind surfing, and lots of beautiful boats!
The Sanibel Causeway connects Sanibel/Captive islands to the mainland of Florida. The Causeway traverses water and connects small sandy islands on its way to Sanibel. The toll for the Causeway is $6 on the way from the mainland to Sanibel. No charge in the other direction. There are places to stop for beach/fishing/boating off the Causeway. Bathrooms are available. Even... 更多
Great place for a picnic, fishing, or just a watching nature. Lot's of activity, people, and coming and going. I enjoy fishing here, it provides great access to the water. Family friendly and we always enjoy day or better "evening" at the causeway.
You can pull off the side of the road on either of the two islands that make up the causeway from Fort Myers to Sanibel. The second island does have a bathroom, the first island does not. You can park your car and you are right on the beach for shelling, fishing or swimming. There are bar-b-que stands if you... 更多
Something magical happens as you cross the causeway onto Sanibel. Your shoulders lower, your breathing becomes deeper and slower and you learn the true definition of "awesome". The views are nothing short of spectacular. Sailboats and yachts cruise by, pelicans fly alongside your car, the surface of the water sparkles like diamonds.
Sanibel Causeway is a must if you are in the Fort Myers area. This is the most amazing causeway. There are places to stop and fish and swim along the causeway. It is also wonderful to tour Sanibel Island. Would recommend to anyone in the Fort Myers area or vacationing in Florida
Traffic is bad but they have people directing traffic at big intersections . Early morning is the best time for traveling around the island(s)
