Sanford has done a lot with rebuilding the historic downtown. There's all kinds of activities and places to see. Some nice little restaurant's and antiques stores. Only a short walking distance to the park along Lake Monroe. Very well kept. Stop there a lot and just relax on one of the park benches.
Quaint small-town downtown feel that is pedestrian friendly with many good cafes and eating options. The adjacent boardwalk is also excellent, with a paved walk/bike path and ample swings and benches. Plentiful parking also makes it easy to explore.
