Went to dinner at the Willow cafe which was excellent German food. Visited various shops. All shops appeared to be locally owned, several art shops where we spent a lot of time.
Got to the Autotrain early so we had some time to spend in Sanford (which is maybe a mile or so from the station). It's a pretty town with lots of nice, quaint shops. We spent a little time on the main street and had coffee in one of the restaurants. We spent most of our time on the RiverWalk.... 更多
Has become a much better place to walk around. more opened stores to visit, clean streets, Also not get hit on by individuals. I don't mind taking my grandkids now for walks.

We went into several of the local antique shops and stores located along the Main Street and ate at the German Cafe. There is also a river walk and Marina with several restaurants and pizza parlors nearby. Once a month usually on a Thursday night the streets are... 更多
If you are looking for great food, this is the place. Or, simply the best fried baloney sandwich I have ever eaten at the down home style Colonial Room. There are plenty of neat stores to browse in, a Blues club, ghost tours, and a performing arts theater. Don't forget the Sanford Av. section. It is just as full of... 更多
This area is much better than it used to be. For about a mile you have a beautiful historic area great for walking, riding a bike, etc. There's also a nice lakeside stretch on lake Monroe. The downtown Sanford area is small but quaint. There are some little gems here and there including a great little antiques dealer.
If for no other reason, go for a leisurely (or cardio) walk along Lake Monroe on the river walk. There is plenty of free parking in the area, well lit lots and streets. Privately owned shops and restaurants line 1st street and there are a few lakeside as well. Plan to spend the day, from here it's short drive to... 更多
