This is a campground and park review.
I gave this a four because of a few minor details. First of all the campsites do not have sewer. We did know this, but in my opinion, 5 stars means it has it all. The showers were fine, except that the water was burning hot at all times. There was no way...
We spent three nights in the Gulf Breezes section and enjoyed. Nice beaches, great dunes, fantastic waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Walked to the end of the peninsula and back (take plenty of water and sunscreen), it is a long walk, several hours.
What a unique park that you can access the ocean or bay by crossing a 10 ft street. It is great access for motor boats, kayaks, canoes, paddle boards... The fishing is exceptional. The park is beautiful. Definitely a highlight of our trip.
We walked this beach and were impressed with it's cleanliness. Also, you didn't have to walk to far to have an area all to yourself. On the board they showed the location of some turtle reefs but I never saw where you left the beach to reach them.
The park is on the very end of the peninsula. You have the Gulf on one side and St joe's bay on the other. The sand is pure white and fine as sugar. The water is seaweed free and lots of shells. Perfect get away.
We spent today enjoying the beautiful beaches here...the water is clear and shades of blue, the sand so soft and the staff"s efforts to maintain a natural habitat are amazing. A great place for families
