Visited the SCPS twice in the last 2 months, we had an excellent orientation from one of the volunteers. The animals there seem to be very well taken care of and many have stories and history to be learned. Our Grandson enjoyed feeding the primates. I know money is tight and it's expensive to care for these animals and the... 更多
I took my 5yr old niece and she loved it. You can pack a lunch and spend the day there. You can even bring your dog. They had more animals than I thought. We were even able to hold a gator. It was a nice family day.
My children kept asking me "how can they be happy living in such small cages?" We didn't even stay a half hour. My advice....donate to help the animals but don't visit. It pulls at the heart strings.
We bought a groupon and we were not disappointed. A lot of species of monkeys and others animals. We were able to hold an alligator. It was a very nice afternoon by discovering and learning.
Clean, attractive, swarming with volunteers. Wish I lived close enough to join the staff. In addition to primates, there are exotic birds, tortoises, and gators. While we were there the monkeys were gobbling fresh fruit, including luscious looking strawberries!
More animals than expected. Nice to see people who care for animals but the vibe over all seemed sad. The animals were well kept and had space to play. We went late afternoon so they may have just been tired and hot! Glad we stopped.
Glad we decided to stop in. Been past it and wondered what it was about. We we're surprised and wish we went sooner. It will be a regular stop from now on. Lots to see and do. The Great staff of volunteers really know their stuff and will spend the time to explain their mission. Take the kids and Grandkids... 更多
We visited this sanctuary after seeing it listed on Groupon. I was familiar with two bird rehab facilities in this area and the Clearwater Marine Aquarium with Winter, but did not know there was a sanctuary for primates. The center was much larger than expected and had a good number of primates along with some birds and reptiles. The entrance... 更多
Loved the orangatan. smelled of animals but what would you expect. I would do this again I have made it a point to encourage people to visit and donate money. Cheetah from the old tarzan movies with Johnny Weismiller was retired to this facility.
Wish this place had more money to clean it up and improve the souroundings. There's alot of heart in this place you can tell the people that work and volunteer there really care about the animals. Definitely a c great place to take the kids and the price is fairly cheap compared to all the tourist traps in area.
