Know as the Jewel of Ormond Beach, The Casements is the former winter home of John D. Rockefeller. A rather modest home by billionaire standards it suited this very famous and wealthy man. The home is now the cultural and enrichment center of Ormond Beach. Many classes of varied interests are held along with a beautiful location for weddings and... 更多
This is an excellent site if you are into history. It was Winter home of John D Rockefeller and is a lovely place to visit. Aside from the beautiful home, it is filled with all sorts of historical articles and very interesting things to see. We have passed this up many times and are so glad we finally decided to... 更多
Informative and interesting . Tour guide was very good. Liked seeing the original furnishings. A good way to spend a few hours while visiting Ormond beach. After visiting the Casements, we took a ride on the loop. Nice scenery. Saw 2 of the things that are recommended for visitors in Ormond beach.
We rented the Gardens across the street through the Casements for daughters wedding and used the Casements to get ready. Everyone went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for us.
Casements has survived over the years and the home tour provides a history of John D. Rockefeller's home and the beginnings of racing on Dayton Beach. Our tour led by Mary S, a Casements Guild guide, was informative and entertaining. The home does have steps but there is also an elevator. The tour was approximately an hour long and would... 更多
My husband and I stopped here on our way out of Ormond Beach. We could not wait for the guided tour, which is free (donations appreciated). Even so, to see the effort put in to the history and preservation of this beautiful home was fantastic. I really enjoyed seeing how the home had benefited the community of Ormond Beach over... 更多
If you don't have something to do or if it is a slow day, this is a good option. You get to see old Ormond Beach. If you are in to history or old home architecture, this is a nice place to go visit.
It is nice to see how the wealthy lived about 100 years ago. Beautifully appointed and fun to imagine how live was so long ago. There is a Boy Scout museum on the upper floor, lots of memroabilia. The yard and water view are excellent.
The location of the House and the tranquil gardens alongside the water make it a very peaceful oasis in a busy coastal town. The house itself is amazing inside, our daughter got married there and we got to spend a lot of time in the house, it is really worth a visit.! We stopped by while in town last weekend... 更多
I visit every Dec. to see their beautiful trees, crafts and many other features. Plus it is an historic site. Going again this Dec. Wouldn't miss it.
