The store is great and the education materials on sea turtles is very good. The volunteers do good things for the endangered turtles. They have turtle walks during the summer that are both fun and educational. The problem arises if you get involved with certain parts of the volunteer program. Some of the "leaders" act like drill instructors" and play... 更多
If you are in Florida during turtle season, please check out this tour. They know where the turtles are and give so much helpful information. Children will love seeing these sweet sea turtles and learning about them. This tour is great for all ages. The first time I saw a sea turtle, I was amazed that they can be the... 更多
Did the walk on June 9th. and we were very fortunate that we did not have to wait for long, may be 30 minutes and the turtle was laying eggs about 7 minutes walk on the beach. Very informative and I feel like the correct way to see them instead of trying to find the turtles yourself on the beach... 更多
The Sea Turtle Preservation Society is a great place to visit if you want to learn more about the variety of sea turtles that nest in Melbourne Beach. The staff are all volunteers and they have a true love for these magnificent creatures. At the society there are offered many Sea Turtle merchandise items including hats and tee shirts. All... 更多
...because the Turtle Walk only takes place in the summer. I read the TripAdvisor reviews before I left Toronto. We were going to be staying in Melbourne Beach our first day in Florida and then driving to Vero Beach for what turned out to be a super sea kayaking tour on the Indian River. Holland Spessard Park was along our... 更多
The wonder of nature is right here in front of you. Sometimes we see baby turtles actually struggling out of their shells and pushing their little fins to get down to the water. Other times we see the tracks of Mama Turtle and the mound that signifies where she has left her eggs. The entire walk is fantastic ... imagine... 更多
The folks do great work. Good background before the walk and great coordination to find a nesting turtle. They handle the group appropriately to get a good view of turtle while not disturbing her. Take an early morning walk later in the summer and if you're lucky, you'll find hatchlings working their way to the water.
I didn't have time for the Turtle Walk, but did have time to meet the staff and view the videos. Very nice job. Best part was walking over to the beach to see all the turtle crawls left from nightly nesting turtles. This is the premier nesting beach on the east coast.
