On our way across Florida, my wife and I decided to stop and eat lunch at Fort Cooper State Park. It was a beautiful day--hot, but not unbearable--but we were almost the only people at the site. The ranger at the entrance was very welcoming and helpful, and we parked as near to the fort location as possible. Be aware,... 更多
My husband and I rode our bikes here from the bike trail, and it is very relaxing, and if you're a nature lover, you will love Fort Cooper State Park! We saw a family of deer, lots of birds, and there is a small lake there. Bring your camera!
We decided to give this local park a try for the nature walk on 5/12/16. About 30 minutes into the walk my friend noticed a tick on her leg, which caused the other three of us to check ourselves, and we were COVERED! I'm talking up inside our clothes, in our shoes, on out arms, legs and I even found... 更多
Beautiful Florida scenery. Not a large park, its a nice place for an evening stroll, picnic, birthday party, etc. The reenactment in March is always enjoyable. At Christmas the special events are also nice.
Easy access and nice old Florida type habitat. Birds (Catbirds, Barred Owl, Turkey, Cardinals, Red-shouldered Hawk, warblers) nature habitat. Shade/sun. It's all good! Get outside!
What a pleasure! This is a wonderful place to visit and the Fort Coopers Days celebration is a great time to visit. Volunteers dress in period correct regalia and reenact a battle from the Second Seminole Indian War. Prior to the battle, you can visit the Indian or Militia camps and talk to the residents about the life and times... 更多
They have done a nice job of combining the history and respecting the local wildlife. We walked around, sat and enjoyed the serenity of this State Park. There are shelters and places to bbq. They are also many benches throughout the park to sit relax on and enjoy the environment b
This is a lovely park built in an area that was once a war zone during the 2nd Seminole War. There is a small lake for swimming, some recreation facilities and bathrooms, plenty of places to picnic, a nice air-conditioned community building for events, 5 miles of walking trails and a new historic kiosk that tells the entire story of... 更多
