I have lived by the Kanapaha Botanical Gardens and have never taken the time to go! So sad for me after 10 years!! When things are close we are the worst at not going to see what it's all about. Let me tell you they have the most wonderful plant sales twice a year! This October is the last one... 更多
We went 4 days after the hurricane after hearing the Botanical gardens was a must see. It was beautiful. It cost us $8 per adult, but my infant got in for free. It's so pretty that people actually have weddings and host events there. It's paved so you can take a stroller or wheel chair. But I would definitely recommend... 更多
This private garden just off Archer Road west if I-75 contains many tropical and subtropical species. It also hosts moonlight walks, garden festivals in spring and fall as well as private parties and weddings. There are walkways throughout the garden. In season azaleas and camellias are in bloom. A huge bamboo garden is a highlight as are the herb garden.... 更多
Or local Botanical gardens features, a trove of local plants and information. Great for a nice stroll, there are drinks and restrooms available. Also a small gift shop. Bring a backpack with some sandwiches and towel. Have a bite to eat inside the bamboo forest. There are mosquitoes some times so bring spray.
Kanapaha's Spring Fling is Great with lots of variety among plant vendors and types of plants offered. Great place to visit for an afternoon or all day excursion. Bamboo plant sale in Jan and Feb is special opportunity to pick up hard to find Bamboos
This is one of the most beautiful gardens that I have ever been to, It takes about two hours to see if you keep a leisurely pace and really take in the views
I took my sister and brother in law for a visit. The four of us had a great visit, walking through nearly all the gardens. It's hard to pick a favorite part, but I find the bamboo amazing. I also think the gift shop is one of the best in Gainesville. I have made many purchases there. It would be... 更多
You'd never guess this beautiful place exists right off of Rt 24. You can easily meander for an hour or two enjoying the sights and reading plant descriptions. I went for the first time on a rainy day. It was gorgeous, but I would advise tennis shoes if it's rainy, due to puddles.
Lived in Gainesville 10 years without going; finally visited AFTER I'd moved away. The gardens are so beautiful! Much larger, more plant variety, and more pathways than I imagined. Definitely recommend going at least once - or even if you're traveling on I-75 and need to stretch your legs - it's very close to the interstate. This is a gem... 更多
Well kept botanical garden. Clearly a great deal of thought has been given to its design. Travel on a pathway and see many, many plants . . . All marked clearly . . . Different times of the year, one sees the variation in plants. The cost for entry is somewhat high for what you get, but nonetheless it is... 更多
